The First Duty
One of Wesley Crusher’s classmates has been killed in an accident during the flight training at Starfleet Academy. Squadron leader Nick Locarno puts the blame on the dead cadet, Joshua Albert, who allegedly panicked, thereby causing the five spacecraft to collide. Picard, however, discovers that the squadron was actually performing a dangerous stunt called the Kolvoord Starburst which has been banned for over a century. Urged by Picard who would otherwise tell the truth himself, Wesley breaks the silence. Nick Locarno is expelled, while the three remaining team members have to repeat their last year at the Academy. summary by Ex-Astris-Scientia
Ouch! Finally Weasley’s not so impeccable anymore! Good to know nobody’s perfect. And, of course, good that he finally found the courage to say what really happened. However, it’s not Wesley that’s most precious in this episode. It’s Boothby (sp?) of course. I bet he was an El-Aurian. He must have been, don’t you think?
