“Who Watches the Watchers”

“Who Watches the Watchers” The failure of the “duck blind” on Mintaka III, used to observe the indigenous proto-Vulcan population, initiates a chain of events in which the Mintakans discover the “miracles” of Federation technology and believe that “The Picard” must be a god. Picard knows that he has to correct this impression in the spirit of the Prime Directive and beams to the planet, explaining that he is not a god. The Mintakans finally believe him when they hurt Picard and see him bleeding. summary by Ex-Astris-Scientia

Ah yeah, one of the more fascinating episodes. The problem of actually getting in contact with - and contaminating - an alien culture has always been fascinating for me. We get to hear so much about Prime Directive throughout the whole Star Trek, now there’s one of surprisingly few occasions to really and unquestionably see it violated.

And what? And nothing. Picard is a genius, he can solve any problem. Me likes :-)
